Born in France, bass Antoine Salmon graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2010. In 2008 and 2010 he was the recipient of a scholarship to join the Dartington Advanced Opera Course led by Alexander Oliver to perform Prince Gremin Eugene Onegin and Bartolo/Antonio Le Nozze di Figaro.
Antoine's recent operatic experience includes Don Alfonso Così fan tutte (Pop-Up Opera), Billy Jackrabbit La Fanciulla del West (Midsummer Opera) and Fafner The Ring (Fulham Opera). In 2013 he sang Speaker/2nd Armed Man The Magic Flute (Opera Project), Uberto La Serva Padrona (Pop-Up Opera) and covered the role of Fafner in Longborough Festival Opera’s Complete Ring Cycle. Further roles include Sprecher Die Zauberflöte (Longborough Festival Opera), Basilio Il Barbiere di
Siviglia f(Heritage Opera), Dulcamara Elixir of Love (Hampstead Garden Opera), Don Pasquale, Benoît/Alcindoro La Bohème, Dr. Grenvil La Traviata, Tom A Masked Ball and Truffaldin Ariadne auf Naxos.. Abroad he has performed the roles of Guccio Gianni Schicchi in the Stadthalle Bayreuth, Bourdon Le Postillon de Lonjumeau and Sacristan Tosca (Opera de Baugé). For Barefoot Young Artists Tour led by Jenny Miller, he has performed the roles of Commendatore Don Giovanni, Don Alfonso Così fan tutte and Sarastro Die Zauberflöte.
Oratorio and concert repertoire include Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms' Liebeslieder-Walzer op.52, Schubert's Winterreise and Mussorgsky's Songs and Dances of Death amongst others. In 2010 he made his dramatic debut as The Devil in Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale in Paris.
Future projects include Pistola Falstaff (Fulham Opera), alter Diener/Pfleger des Orest Elektra (Secret Opera) and Osmin Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Pop-Up Opera). Antoine studies with David Pollard.
