Emily-Jane trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, from where she obtained her BMus (Hons.) degree with Distinction and first class Masters degree under Yvonne Kenny. She also studied at Der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and on English National Opera’s ‘Opera Works’ Scheme for young artists.
Emily-Jane's roles include Second Fairy/Second Woman The Fairy Queen (Glyndebourne Festival, OAE under William Christie & Laurence Cummings); Cis Albert Herring (BBC Symphony Orchestra under Steuart Bedford and ETO UK tour under Michael Rosewell); Juliet The Little Sweep (television broadcast S4C); Second Boy The Magic Flute (ETO UK tour under Michael Rosewell and James Southall); Zerlina Don Giovanni and Frasquita Carmen (UK tour/Soho Theatre for Opera Up Close) and Barbarina Le Nozze di Figaro and Frederika A Little Night Music (Opera Project at West Green House under Jon Lyness). She also sang Zerlina Don Giovanni with the Bahrain Symphony Orchestra under Orlando Jopling in Bahrain’s first ever production of an opera. She performed with the Glyndebourne Chorus in The Fairy Queen at the BBC Proms and has understudied for Scottish Opera (First Witch Macbeth), Opera North (Flora The Turn of the Screw) and Opera Project (Zerbinetta Ariadne auf Naxos).
Emily-Jane is an experienced recitalist and concert singer. Her repertoire includes Haydn Creation under Sir David Willcocks, Messiah with Sarah Walker and recitals entitled ‘Glorious Handel by Candelight’ with the Mozart Festival Orchestra under Steven Devine at the Barbican and Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Emily-Jane’s recent engagements include Woman (understudy) Y Twr and Young One (understudy) The Golden Dragon for Music Theatre Wales and Pamina The Magic Flutefor Charles Court Opera.
