Robert Lomax

Robert returns to Pop-up Opera to sing the role of Ferrando, having previously appeared with the company as Silvio/Docteur Miracle (Le Docteur Miracle). Other recent projects have included Ferrando with Pavilion Opera and Carlo (I Masnadieri) with Opera Viva, with whom he will shortly perform the title role in Ernani. Reviewers have described him as “powerful and romantic” and "a delight to listen to".

His principal roles include José (Carmen), Faust (Faust), the Duke (Rigoletto), Alfredo (La Traviata), Fenton (Falstaff), Ernani (Ernani), Eduardo (Un Giorno di Regno), Carlo (I Masnadieri), Donald (Gallantry), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Ferrando (Così Fan Tutte), Roberto (Le Villi) and Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly). He has an extensive song repertoire and has been a soloist in Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle and the Requiems of Schumann and Mozart, alongside many other sacred works.

Robert has studied with Justin Lavender, Philip Doghan and Romolo Bruni; he attended Oxford University and the Royal Academy of Music.
