Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel 2018

Teignmouth Classical Festival

In 2018 the Teignmouth Classical Music Festival will be in its 6th year. From very modest beginnings in 2013 it grew rapidly to fill an entire weekend. Events will be taking place over the course of two weekends, in Teignmouth itself and in nearby Chudleigh, and we thrilled to be involved returning.

The Festival is organised by South Devon Singers, a local charity whose objective is to promote the art and science of music, and we look forward to adding our accessible Opera to the mix for the second year running.

Come and join us on Sunday 4th March at 7:00pm at the Teignmouth United Reformed Church in South Devon.

Tickets are £20 full price and £16 concession (18 & under and 60 & over)

Venue Information

Venue Description:
The Teignmouth Classical Festival takes place in this beautiful church built in 1790. It is a venue used widely by the community so there is no better place to have performances for the local festival.

The aim of the Classical Music Festival is fivefold:

1. to bring classical music to varied audiences at affordable prices

2. to encourage participation both from professional and amateur musicians

3. to be fully inclusive, particularly in terms of the age range of performers, so that old and young can make and enjoy music together in an atmosphere of mutual respect

4. to draw on local talent

5. to commission and or facilitate the performance of new work. Not only does classical music have a rich and varied history, it is also a vibrant and contemporary art form.
