Production:
Chabrier's Une Éducation Manquée 2016
This exclusive production of Emmanuel Chabrier’s rarely-performed Une Education Manquée, was originally put together for Wilderness Festival.
This deliciously madcap and witty 45-minute French operetta is set in the time of Louis XVI. Une Education Manquée is the tale of two very young aristocrats who have just been married but are totally innocent of the facts of life: the tutor to whom the young Count turns for advice has spent his whole life out of the world amid books and is equally ignorant. It is only when the disappointed bride, frightened by a thunderstorm, seeks refuge in her husband’s arms that the ‘problem’ solves itself.
Designed specifically for festivals with stage direction by Herald Angel Award winner, Jack Furness and musical direction by William Cole.
